Data Management Consultant for Financial Services Firm

Global Financial firm located in Jersey City, NJ has an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced Data Management Consultant.

Responsibilities

The role reports to the CIB Chief Data Officer while providing matrixed support to the IHC CDO and their respective regulatory reporting team (Board Risk, CCAR FR Y-14M/Q/A, FR Y-9C, ALMT, etc.,). The role provides a single point of contact for all reporting work stream-related data management activities including Sourcing, Data Quality and Issue Management & Remediation.

The role is also responsible for the advocacy of standing Data Governance Policies and Procedures to ensure the reporting work stream's alignment and adherence. This is part of the overall Data Governance framework being rolled out throughout the U.S. platform. The position requires working in a virtual team and international environment and is multidisciplinary in nature.

Responsibilities include:

Primary accountability is to advocate the Enterprise Data Management operating model and ensure the reporting work stream's alignment and adherence to standing Data Governance Policies and Procedures.

Act as point of contact for senior management, reporting team(s) in business lines and functions, locally and globally on work stream-related data topics

Develop and maintain highly effective relationships with data providers and technology support groups

Develop and keep current knowledge on rule makings and general industry developments regarding U.S. regulatory reform across assigned sections of the rulemakings with the objective of being the first level of contact for non-experts

Facilitate the execution of the work stream's report submissions via consolidation of a Data Delivery Dashboard, execution of RCMs, and support for related evidence collection, and ultimately the overall workstream data attestation

Continually drive improvements to the existing operational processes, reporting, and delivery methods through the identification and prioritization of data, controls, and reporting automation opportunities

Manage alignment of work stream deliverables within the EDM and/or other program portfolio plans and manage risk reporting and issues escalations processes and documentation as well as oversight of mitigation plans and discussions

Follow appropriate and established EDM and/or reporting team change control procedures

Perform ad-hoc reporting at management's request

Develops and maintains knowledge on the BCBS239 guidance as well as the RaDAR program implementation so as to constantly adjust, as relevant, your activities to the approach promoted by the Group

Board Risk-specific responsibilities/objectives:

Facilitate communication between Risk Teams and:

Data Management required to provide the analysis, prioritization and documentation of complete Risk Data Lineage (full fledge)

Data Governance to build the Data Ownership, assignment of Roles & Responsibilities as well as Reference Framework

Qualifications:

Bachelor degree required

5 to 10 years' experience in business analysis or program and project manager capacity working on technology-intensive undertakings or process improvement initiatives

Solid knowledge of the financial industry and related products focused on investment banking or asset management

Ability to think critically and analytically

Ability to challenge information reported and extract key messages for executive consumption

Attention to detail and the ability to work with a distributed multinational and multicultural teams

Ability to prioritize and manage a variable workload

Strong organizational, communication and presentation skills

High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project)
